Fly & Feast

A Kaikōura Experience from Sky to Table

Take your Kaikōura adventure to new heights with Fly & Feast – an unforgettable blend of aerial wonder, seasonal flavours and coastal hospitality. Your journey begins with South Pacific Helicopters, lifting off for a breathtaking whale watching flight. As you soar above the deep offshore canyon, you’ll have the rare opportunity to spot Kaikōura’s resident sperm whales and other marine life from the best vantage point imaginable, all set against the dramatic backdrop of the Seaward Kaikōura Range.

After touching down at Hapuku Kitchen, the experience transitions from sky to soil. Fiona welcomes you into the gardens for a guided forage and harvest, exploring the seasonal abundance growing just metres from the kitchen. You’ll gather herbs, fruit, vegetables and edible flowers, learning the stories behind the ingredients and the sustainable principles that guide the garden’s design.

With baskets full, settle into the kitchen for a long, leisurely lunch celebrating the flavours of the land and sea. Fiona prepares a multi-course feast that showcases your freshly harvested produce alongside locally sourced kaimoana and artisan ingredients. This is slow, generous dining – time to unwind and enjoy Kaikōura hospitality.

A luxurious blend of adventure and indulgence, Fly & Feast is perfect for travellers seeking something truly memorable: a transformation from spectator to participant, from soaring above Kaikōura to savouring it on the plate.

This experience is offered on a private basis only, meaning your group will have the helicopter, the garden and the hosts all to yourselves.

Ideal for groups of up to 6, our Fly & Feast experience can also accommodate larger parties—simply reach out to us to plan your adventure.
