Catch, Forage, Cook
A Wild Kaikōura Feast From Ocean to Garden
Catch, Forage, Cook is a deeply immersive full-day experience that reaches beyond a typical catch and cook. It's a journey shaped by kaimoana, wild botanicals, seasonal produce and the coastal landscapes that connect them.
Begin out on the water, harvesting your own catch with Malcolm from Top Catch Charters. Back on land, explore the coastline guided by Fiona — foraging for wild edible plants that will elevate your kaimoana and taking in the beauty, history, culture and wildlife of the Kaikōura shoreline.
On arriving at Hapuku Kitchen, you'll harvest fresh ingredients from our gardens, then prepare and cook a seasonal feast that brings together the flavours of sea, soil and garden in a way that's uniquely Kaikōura.
Where Catch & Cook focuses primarily on the fishing, Catch, Forage, Cook offers a fuller story of food and place — part coastal adventure, part foraging workshop, part cooking class.
This experience is offered on a private basis only, meaning your group will have the boat, the kitchen and the hosts all to yourselves.
Ideal for groups of up to 6, our Catch, Forage, Cook experience can also accommodate larger parties — simply reach out to plan your adventure.
